Healthcare cybersecurity risk ‘higher than ever’ due to pandemic

Cyber attack risk for healthcare organizations has increased significantly due to the rapid digitization caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, states a report by GlobalData. The shift to remote work and telemedicine increased the potential attack surface and security teams were often unable to adequately secure systems. The report also predicts growth in cybersecurity spending; healthcare providers will see a compound annual growth rate of 12.5% from $6.1bn in 2022 to $10.9bn in 2027.
