Secure Boot is completely broken on 200+ models from 5 big device makers

The Secure Boot cybersecurity feature adopted by an industry-wide coalition of software and hardware makers in 2012 has been compromised on over 200 device models released by Acer, Dell, Gigabyte, Intel, and Supermicro. The researchers at Binarly found a cryptographic key, the root of trust for Secure Boot, compromising its security and leaving devices using the platform key open to malware or other untrusted code if no firmware updates are released.
