Mobile Phishing Attack Targets India Postal System Users

Chinese hacker group, Smishing Triad, has targeted Indian iPhone users with phishing attacks using the country’s postal system as a façade. The victims received text messages with misleading information about a package awaiting collection and fraudulent URLs. Over 470 domain registrations mimicking India Post’s official domain were made between January and July 2024. Mobile phishing attacks are becoming more prevalent due to users’ lack of security measures and a false sense of security.
