‘Out of date’ IT system leaves NHS at risk of further cyber attacks

A cyber attack in June forced major London hospitals to postpone more than 6,000 appointments and procedures. NHS England confirmed that data from this attack had been released online. The attack is believed to have been carried out by Russian cyber criminals, who published patient data. Not all IT systems had been updated, which left them vulnerable.
