Dementia risk rises with elevated remnant cholesterol, South Korean study reveals

A study by South Korean researchers has found a link between high remnant cholesterol (remnant-C) levels and increased dementia risk, including Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia. The study, involving over 2.6 million adults, showed those with the highest remnant-C levels had an 11% to 15% higher risk of dementia. The risk was more pronounced in middle-aged people and diabetic patients, particularly those with a longer history of diabetes.
