Talcum powder and female cancer: Separating myths from facts

Correlation studies of talcum powder (TP) and cancer have shown a weak association at best, with some studies questioning the quality of the research done in the past five decades. Although the correlation between TP and cancer is similar to that between asbestos and lung disease and cigarette smoking and cancer, the link between TP and cancer is not supported by animal and lab studies. The possible carcinogenic effect of TP on women still remains unproven and requires more detailed investigation.
