HIE pilot tackles emergency response data silos

The Michigan Health Information Network Shared Services (MiHIN) has partnered with Beyond Lucid Technologies (BLT), the Reading Emergency Unit and the Hillsdale Hospital to facilitate data exchange between the emergency unit and the hospital. The partnership aims to improve decision-making and care outcomes by allowing ambulatory medical professionals a more complete view of the patient. The aim is to simplify the process of patient handoff from emergency medical services to hospitals.
