Why fewer Americans are having kids

The number of Americans without children is increasing due to factors such as financial constraints, difficulty finding partners, and lifestyle choices. The CDC states that nearly 45% of women aged 15-49 were childless between 2017 and 2019, up from 42% in 2015-2017. A Pew Research Center survey found 57% of childless adults under 50 do not want children. Other reasons include the increasing cost of raising a child and worries over the future and the environment.
