HIS glitch forces Malaysian hospital to go manual

A system breakdown of the Total Hospital Information System (tHIS) in Malaysia’s northern state of Kedah disrupted services at public hospitals and health facilities, impacting an estimated 3,000 patients. The downtime, which lasted over 24 hours, caused delays in treatment and affected patient registration and access to medical records. The Ministry of Health and Kedah State Health Department are considering a move to a cloud-based system to prevent future failures.
