HCA pushed out providers, downgraded care after acquiring Mission Health: report

Reports suggest two-thirds of Mission Health’s doctors have left following its acquisition by HCA Healthcare. Mission nurses unionized in 2020, citing staff and resource shortages. In 2022, over 200 doctors quit, with some signing an open letter criticizing care and staffing levels under HCA. The hospital is also accused of closing or reducing funds for less profitable specialties, and ignoring physician concerns about the quality of care. This, along with other issues, has reportedly led to delayed procedures and a higher risk of complications for patients.
