Some physicians get comfortable with compounded weight loss drugs

Physicians are increasingly prescribing compounded versions of popular weight loss drugs Wegovy and Zepound due to supply shortages. Compounding pharmacies can make substitute versions of these drugs during shortages, but they are not tested for safety, efficacy, or quality by the FDA. Some physicians remain skeptical due the lack of regulation, monitoring and potential for dosing errors.
