77% of Educational Institutions Spotted a Cyberattack Within the Last 12 Months

A survey from cybersecurity vendor Netwrix, involving 1,309 global IT and security professionals, reveals a significant increase in cyberattacks within the education sector over the past year. Around 77% of organizations reported a cyberattack, up from 69% in 2023. Almost half of these institutions incurred unplanned expenses to fix security gaps, while a considerable number also reported compliance fines, leadership changes, and lawsuits.
