A Roadmap For Improving Diversity in Cancer Research

Inlightened CEO Shelli Pavone has suggested greater use of digital tools to boost enrolment and enhance diversity in cancer research trials. Despite recent advances, the individuals participating in new drug trials do not reflect the US population accurately. Pavone suggested facilitation of enrolment through a centrally located database, tailored outreach plans for all patient populations, and considering clinical trials in care delivery plans as equally as chemo and immunotherapy are. To retain participant diversity, include community health settings and create more diverse site personnel.
