Uninsured, less educated patients less likely to question medical bills: study

A study published in the JAMA Health Forum found that patients with less education or financial literacy and those without health insurance are less likely to dispute medical bills. Meanwhile, those who do contest charges usually secure some form of financial relief. Such inaction on medical bills increases the risk of worsened inequalities in medical debt, the research suggested.
