Digital tools to improve ADR reporting, medication safety

Around 75% of Australians have had a bad reaction to medication but only 36% reported it, leaving regulatory authorities in the dark over potential issues, according to a study by the University of South Australia. Researchers will use a AUD1.7m ($1.3m) federal grant to create consumer-focused digital tools aimed at facilitating easier reporting of adverse drug reactions, potentially saving significant healthcare costs.
