J&J threatened with sanctions over plan to rebate 340B drugs

The Biden administration has warned Johnson & Johnson (J&J) that it could face fines if it goes ahead with modifications to how it provides hospitals with savings on two commonly prescribed drugs in the 340B drug discount program. Instead of providing upfront discounts, J&J plans to offer hospitals after-the-fact rebates, a move considered illegal by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), which could result in fines and loss of access to Medicare and Medicaid.
