Hospital president out after Lifespan trims 20% of executive roles

Lifespan has cut executive positions by 20% as part of a strategic restructure under CEO John Fernandez. The restructuring is expected to save $6 million by 2025. Crista Durand, former president of Newport Hospital, is no longer with Lifespan. The company, which is set to rebrand as Brown University Health in 2024, recently received approval to acquire two Massachusetts-based hospitals.
