Particle Health files antitrust suit against Epic

Particle Health, a data analytics firm, has filed a lawsuit against Epic Systems Corp, accusing the company of using its monopoly over electronic health records to obstruct access to full patient medical files and prevent competition. The lawsuit, based on the Sherman Antitrust Act, states that Epic’s actions have hindered medical care for over 2,800 patients. Particle seeks monetary damages and injunctive relief. Epic has dismissed the accusations as baseless and alleged that Particle violated privacy regulations.
