Mozilla Faces Privacy Complaint for Enabling Tracking in Firefox Without User Consent
Noyb, a Vienna-based privacy non-profit, has filed a complaint against Mozilla, claiming that Firefox fails to seek user consent for a new feature, Privacy Preserving Attribution (PPA). The feature allows Firefox to track user behavior on websites, which Noyb believes violates the European Union’s data protection regulations. The organization criticized Mozilla for allegedly automatically enabling the feature without users’ knowledge, in a move reminiscent of Google’s tactics.
