A Critical Look At The New U.S. Cyber Trust Mark

The U.S. Cyber Trust Mark, a new voluntary cybersecurity labelling programme proposed by the FCC, is expected to boost the IoT market by establishing security standards and building user trust. It will initially cover consumer-grade IoT devices from 2024, offering a certification of cybersecurity compliance. This is the government’s move to reinforce the importance of cybersecurity amid the rise of Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) devices which can often be exploited for their vulnerabilities.
