A new wave of Discord malware is on the rise – here’s what you need to know

A new report by Trellix highlights that Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) are using Discord to target Ukraine’s critical infrastructure. In a first, the unnamed threat actor used a phishing attack involving a fake charity, using the platform’s webhook feature, to exfiltrate information. The attacker potentially plans to launch a more sophisticated attack, according to Trellix. However, Discord’s control over its server limits the scale of APT usage.
