A Sneak Peek into a New Malware Family

A new ransomware strain named 3AM has been detected by the Symantec Threat Hunter Team. After a failed attempt to use the LockBit ransomware, an affiliate deployed the 3AM strain, which is written in Rust and stops various services on the infected computer. Before encrypting files, it tries to delete Volume Shadow copies. Symantec blocked it on two of three infected machines, but its origins remain unknown.
