A year after Russia’s invasion, the scope of cyberwar in Ukraine comes into focus

Cybersecurity researchers from SentinelLabs and ESET, along with major tech companies and western allies, have focused on defending Ukraine from Russia’s cyberattacks in the conflict. Russian cyber operations have primarily used “wipers” to delete data and executed extensive information operations. However, reports suggest Russian cyberattacks have not had a major impact on the conflict’s outcome. Meanwhile, the joint effort to protect Ukrainian systems represents an unprecedented level of international collaboration in cybersecurity.
