ADHA prepares new security standards for My Health Record connection
The Australian Digital Health Agency is implementing new security requirements for software providers connecting to the My Health Record system. Clinical information systems, used in GP clinics, pharmacies, and allied health services, will need to comply with the new mandatory security requirements from April 2023. These requirements aim to strengthen cybersecurity, protect consumer information, and align with best-practice standards. Clinical software vendors will need to provide evidence of compliance and receive support from the agency. The move aims to address inherent cybersecurity risks and reduce the likelihood of cyber attacks in the healthcare industry.
