Advanced begins forensic investigation into ransomware attack

Advanced is conducting a forensic investigation into its recent ransomware attack which affected various systems across 36 acute and mental health trusts in England. The attacker’s motivation appears to be financial. A third-party investigation is underway to determine if sensitive patient data was violated and enhance system protection. Advanced is also working with NHS and NCSC to validate additional steps taken before restoring services on its systems.
