Advanced cyber-attack: NHS doctors’ paperwork piles up

Continuing cyber-attacks on the NHS supplier Advanced have resulted in mounting piles of paperwork threatening patient care, as doctors have been resorting to pen and paper for care notes for four weeks. Seven of Advanced’s systems were put offline by the ransomware attack, and it may take another three months to restore some services. The company refuses to share whether it is negotiating with the cyber-criminals.
