After string of breaches, Amazon upgrades security features for cloud server
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is updating its S3 server dashboard to include a visible warning for server administrators that data is publicly accessible. The new feature includes support for encrypting all S3 data by default and allows administrators to control privacy settings. AWS will also send daily and weekly reports on the encryption status of each object. These security options are provided at no extra cost to customers. The updates come after a series of high-profile breaches caused by misconfigured databases.
