AHA says OCR’s online tracking tool rules need to go

The American Hospital Association (AHA) has written to the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions arguing that an Office of Civil Rights (OCR) rule hampering the use of online tracking tools by healthcare organizations is at odds with existing HIPAA rules. The association asserts the rule is “flawed” and limits the ability of providers to share non-private healthcare information with the public.
