AI-Enhanced Cardiology Takes Another Step Forward

An AI-based algorithm, developed in conjunction with routine ECGs, has shown promise in detecting Asymptomatic Left Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction (ALVSD). The study by Mayo Clinic revealed that using the AI tool increased the diagnosis of low ejection fraction, a condition which can lead to heart failure, by 32% compared to usual care. It also fulfilled many of the criticisms levelled at AI developers concerning data validation and generalizability.
