AI-fueled phishing scams raise alarm ahead of U.S. presidential election

Bolster, a cybersecurity firm, has warned of an increase in digital scams and phishing attacks targeting US citizens, according to a new research. The study found 24 different nation-state threat actor groups trying to exploit rising political tensions to influence the 2024 US presidential elections. Seventy-five percent of these groups come from China, Russia or Iran. Furthermore, Bolster cites the usage of AI by attackers to automate mass spam campaigns and increase ‘real-time’ interaction.
