All households in Scottish region to get alert about hackers publishing stolen medical data

Scottish households in Dumfries and Galloway are being warned about stolen and published medical data following a ransomware attack on the NHS in February. Cybercriminal group, INC Ransom, threatened to release the files unless a ransom was paid. The data breach, affecting nearly 150,000 people, ranges from x-ray images to test results. NHS staff and patients have been warned of the possibility of identity theft, and are advised to report any suspicious activities.
