Analysis: Humana is Boldly Going Where Walmart Stumbled

Insurer Humana is leasing clinical space in 23 of Walmart’s Supercenter stores to expand its primary care business for seniors. The spaces will become CenterWell Senior Primary Care and Conviva Care Centers, aimed at improving care by offering access to a range of health professionals. The locations will be open no later than the first half of 2025, Humana says. The leasing is an inexpensive way for Humana to fill gaps in its coverage. The remaining 28 centers may be leased depending on the success of the first 23.
