APAC’s healthcare security in crisis over rising cyberattacks: report

The healthcare sector in the Asian Pacific (APAC) region is a key target for cybercrime, with a surge in ransomware attacks, reports KnowBe4. In Australia, 22% of all data breaches between July and December 2023 were from healthcare. Cyberattacks pose a threat to patient care, financial and insurance information, and could lead to reliance on incomplete paper records. The average cost of a breach in the healthcare sector is nearly $11m, three times the global average.
