Appeal for O-type blood donors after cyber attack affected London hospitals

The NHS Blood and Transplant is soliciting O blood-type donors due to a ransomware attack on London’s primary hospitals which has disrupted blood-matching capabilities. The universal O blood type is safe for all patients and will be required more than usual in the coming weeks. The NHS is encouraging potential donors to book an appointment at one of the 25 NHS Blood Donor Centres in England.
