Apple Fixes Bugs That Infected Egyptian Politician’s iPhone

Apple has released patches to fix three vulnerabilities used by Cytrox to infect the iPhone of Egyptian politician Ahmed Eltantawy with the Predator malware. The breach was discovered by the University of Toronto’s Citizen Lab and Google’s Threat Analysis Group. The vulnerabilities, which likely originated from the Egyptian government, affected models from the iPhone 8 and later, macOS Monterey and later, recent iPad Mini and Apple Watch models, and Safari.
