Appointment backlog passes 6,000, with more than 1,300 ops postponed in wake of hospital ransomware hack, new figures reveal

A cyber attack last month has resulted in over 6,000 postponed appointments and procedures at London’s major hospitals. Most services are near normal, but pathology is at 54% of pre-attack capacity. Data stolen in the ransomware attack has been published online, potentially including patient information. NHS England set up a helpline and is appealing for type O blood donors.
