Ardent Health Services Hospitals Hit by Ransomware Attack

Nashville-based healthcare operator Ardent Health Services faced a ransomware attack on November 23, 2023, which led to all operations across its network being suspended. Ardent, which owns and operates over 30 hospitals and 200 sites of care across six states, reported the attack to law enforcement and employed third-party forensic and threat intelligence advisors. The company has implemented additional IT security measures, but can’t currently ascertain the extent of compromised patient health or financial data. Patient care is still ongoing, although some non-emergent procedures have been rescheduled.
