Scammers are manoeuvring victims into downloading malware on their Android devices, using it to increase credit limits and siphon off funds. Android is a favoured target due to its open nature and large market share. Cybersecurity expert Yeo Siang Tiong warns that malware can access personal information including banking apps, mobile wallets and two-factor authentication tools, enabling hackers to make unauthorised transactions or steal data for future fraudulent activity.
