At Providence, RPM is improving patient health and reducing provider workload

Providence, a health system based in Washington, uses digital innovation for improving care delivery. It has expanded into remote patient monitoring (RPM) to address workforce burnout and care fragmentation. Working with Cadence, its RPM program monitors patients with chronic conditions from home, thus reducing physicians’ workload. The program has increased patient engagement, improved quality of care, and transitioned care delivery from reactive to proactive. Providence’s RPM program has been adopted widely, with over 1,500 patients currently enrolled, and numbers are expected to reach 5,000 to 8,000 by 2024.
