Atrium Health responds to new social engineering attack

Atrium Health is warning patients and staff of potential data exposure after a phishing attack. The North Carolina healthcare provider clarified that electronic medical records remained safe, but attackers could have accessed email information during one day in late April. Although the operation didn’t seem to target health or medical content, Atrium is investigating and promises to take measures to reduce future cybersecurity risk.
