AT&T Confirms Data Breach Affecting Nearly All Wireless Customers

AT&T has confirmed a data breach that allowed threat actors to access records of call and text interactions of almost all its wireless customers and those of its mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) such as Cricket Wireless and Red Pocket. The breach, which occurred on a third-party cloud platform, also risks revealing customers’ locations when calls or texts were made. While no content or personally identifiable info was accessed, AT&T warns against potential phishings and frauds ensuing from the stolen data.
