Australia to pursue AI, VR pilots for aged care reform

Australia’s Department of Health and Aged Care has published a five-year plan to introduce digital and data innovation in its aged care system. The plan hopes to deliver person-centred care for senior citizens, while enhancing the sustainable care economy. Key outcomes include secure data sharing and activities such as implementing data governance and conducting trials for AI and VR technologies. The strategy aligns with the country’s ten-year Digital Health Blueprint and its five-year National Digital Health Strategy.
