BBC licence fee collector Capita confirms cyber attack

Outsourcer Capita, which holds contracts worth billions of pounds for the NHS and BBC, has started restoring services after a cyber attack that disrupted computer systems. The firm said it was restoring access to its Microsoft Office 365 services, adding that “our IT security monitoring capabilities swiftly alerted us to the incident, and we quickly invoked our established and practised technical crisis management protocols”.
