Maksim Silnikau, a Belarussian and Ukrainian dual-national believed to be associated with Russian cybercrime groups, has been extradited to the U.S. to face charges related to international computer hacking and wire fraud schemes. Silnikau and his co-conspirators are allegedly responsible for ransomware strains such as Reveton, which extorted around $400,000 monthly from victims. The group also disseminated malware and conducted scams, stealing personal data and compromising devices.
