Bing Chat responses infiltrated by ads pushing malware

Advertisements promoting malware have been found within Microsoft’s AI-powered Bing Chat, launched in Feb 2023 to rival Google. The chat-based feature has allowed threat actors to exploit the platform by conveying authority and trustworthiness. Researchers at Malwarebytes have spotted ads disguised as download sites for the Advanced IP Scanner utility, often used by cyber attackers. The final destination and output of the malware remain unknown, although similar campaigns are commonly used to steal data or infiltrate corporate networks.
