Birmingham and District use virtual waiting room to maintain patient safety

During a cyber attack on a primary IT platform used by NHS 111, Birmingham and District GP Emergency Room has expanded the scope of its Virtual Waiting Room (VWR) pilot to ensure patient safety. The VWR technology, operated by Ummanu, improved patient flow and allowed the system to manage patient flows and prioritise those needing remote consultations.
