BitLocker workaround may offer aid for CrowdStrike customers

A CrowdStrike defective update caused a mass IT outage, leading clients to manually restore Windows systems. Some found restoration complicated by BitLocker’s encryption feature. Workarounds posted on social media offered solutions, with CrowdStrike publishing similar advice. The workarounds involve skipping BitLocker requirements and booting affected systems in safe mode, allowing users to remove the faulty file. Cybersecurity expert Pascal Gujer confirmed the method works and maintains system security, but does not bypass encryption.
