British hospital investigating impact of ‘contained’ cyber incident

The Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, which runs Walsall Manor Hospital, has confirmed a “contained” cyber attack affecting the trust. The incident was disclosed by the local Express and Star newspaper two weeks after IT staff began dealing with it. The trust provides healthcare services to approximately 260,000 people and employs around 4,400 staff. The nature of the cyber attack is yet to be confirmed.
