Businesses Suffered 50% More Cyberattack Attempts per Week in 2021

Cyberattack attempts reached a record high in Q4 of 2021, with 925 attempts per week per organization, partly driven by the Log4j vulnerability, according to Check Point Research. A 50% year-over-year increase was seen globally, with the education/research sector experiencing the highest volume of attempts, and Africa seeing the most attempts per week. These attacks exploited new online systems and the complex network of individuals using them.
