Cancer patients have operations cancelled after NHS cyber attacks

A cyberattack, believed to have been carried out by Russian hackers, on Synnovis, a provider of pathology services to UK’s NHS hospitals, has disrupted cancer treatments. The ransomware attack affected hundreds of patients and led to over 200 emergency procedures, and thousands of appointments being cancelled by Guy’s and St Thomas’ Foundation Trust and King’s College University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The data breach situation is still being assessed.
